Dr. Osman Shaalan honors the team of the Faculty of Computer Zagazig winner in the qualification of space applications Hackathon NASA

   A team from the Faculty of Computing, Information and Engineering at Zagazig University in partnership with Zewail University won the first place and its rise to represent Egypt in the NASA International Competition in the NASA Space Applications Hackathon, organized by the Youth Association of the Egyptian Society of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE Young). Professionals) for the fifth consecutive year, from 18-19 October at the American University in Cairo, where the team provided an innovative and awareness solution to the problem of rising sea levels and its impact on coastal areas and the delta.

     Dr. Othman Shaalan, President of the University, received today the members of the winning team in the presence of Dr. Mervat Askar, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Khalid Al-Darandali, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information, Dr. Amal Farouk, Vice-Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Nisreen Saber. .

 Dr. Othman Shaalan, President of Zagazig University during the meeting said  that the university is keen to encourage its students and faculty members to participate in scientific forums and events and local and international competitions to encourage the presence and benefit of scientific, which raises the efficiency of students and faculty.

  Dr. Khalid Al-Darandali explained that this competition is part of NASA's Department of Earth Sciences and relies on the talent and initiative of volunteers and  Every year, thousands of people from around the world engage with NASA to build innovative solutions to the challenges we face on Earth, the oceans and in space using open source data.

    For her part, Prof. Amal Farouk said that the participation this year varied among the graduates of the college in the preparation and organization team in the competition at the American University are: Eng. Mohamed Hassan and Eng. Miran Abdullah and Eng. Ahmed Dhubai And Among the faculty members, Dr. Nisreen Al-Saber, a teacher at the Faculty of Information Systems, participated in the competition jury this year. And the team included students Esraa Fathi, student Mohammed and Ahmed Mohsen from the Faculty of Computing and Information, Karim Nabil from the Faculty of Engineering, Anwar Ali and Yara Tarek from the Environmental Engineering University of Zewail. The team received the shield of the competition and a sum of twenty thousand pounds and an invitation to represent Egypt in the international competition in America.          

  Dr. Nisreen Al-Saber pointed out that this year is the second year in a row in which Zagazig University has gained a leading position in the Republic Where the team won ,Eng. Ahmed Adel Gomaa from Zagazig Engineering in the first place locally and internationally and represented Egypt in the competition in the United States of America and the nomination of the Referees Committee to compete internationally last year. The team also won the best team in the camp in America.
